Staying at the Observatory offers the perfect place to explore Teignmouth and the surrounding areas of South Devon. Below are just a few images of what Teignmouth has to offer.

Shaldon is situated on the South Devon coast across the Teign estuary and opposite the town of Teignmouth. Shaldon is a beautiful unspoilt village offering a friendly vibe from local pubs, shops and the village community.

Torquay is set at the heart of the English Riviera on the South Devon Coast. Famous for its sandy beaches, victorian buildings and family attractions it is probably more well known for being the setting of the legendary comedy series, Fawlty Towers!

Cockington is a beautiful village and country park situated just half an hours walk from Torquay.

Paignton is probably best known for its long sandy beaches, colourful beach huts and lively, grassy sea front. The bustling pier, beautiful Victorian buildings and busy park area have made Paignton a favourite holiday destination over many past decades.

Devon’s capital city, Exeter is a vibrant, modern city with a historical past. Exeter offers a contemporary mixture of shopping, leisure and restaurants all within walking distance of the Cathedral as well as Exeter Quayside which offers a mix of independent retail, bars and restaurants as well as leisure facilities.

Dating back to 907 AD, Totnes is a beautiful historical town which combines stunning countryside with independent shopping with a focus on fair trade goods, handmade crafts and ethical products, local food & drink and interesting attractions.

Brixham is a stunning, quaint little harbour town onthe southern side of Torbay easily accessible by ferry boat from Torquay.
