Explore Teignmouth

Teignmouth is a quaint coastal town situated on the edge of the River Teign and the South Devon coast. The town of Teignmouth offers all the amenities you would expect from a thriving seaside town. Self catering in the Teignmouth area couldn’t be easier with several local supermarkets and excellent pubs and restaurants offering delicious, fresh local food. With its historic Victorian Pier, Georgian buildings, beautiful sandy beaches and surrounding countryside, Teignmouth has plenty to offer as a holiday destination!

Teignmouth has its own railway station 10 minutes walk from The Observatory at Grand Banks, making it an easily accessible destination. With a regular train service to surrounding towns, Teignmouth is the perfect place from which to explore the South Devon coastline but there is plenty to do and see without going too far afield. The town is lively and vibrant and offers plenty of entertainment and attractions.

Discover Picturesque Shaldon

Shaldon is a quaint village just across the estuary from Teignmouth which can be reached by ferry from the beach which is just a five minute walk from The Observatory. An idyllic little fishing village featuring quaint thatched cottages within its narrow winding streets, Shaldon has lots to see.

Shaldon offers small unique shops and local artists and is home to the Homeyards Botanical Gardens, which are open to the public free of charge 7 days a week. Shaldon Zoo is a small zoo set in a woodland garden, and is home to a unique collection of smaller endangered species. Ness Cove Beach is accessed via an original Smugglers Tunnel, and is one of the most secluded and picturesque beaches in South Devon.

Enjoy the Victorian seaside town of Paignton

Paignton is a traditional seaside town offering lovely long beaches and an extensive promenade which is lined with colourful beach huts.

Paignton is just a 20 minute train ride from Teignmouth and the lovely sea front is a shot walk from the train station in Paignton. The promenade has a Victorian pier to explore and some of the nicest beaches in Devon. It is extremely flat and offers plenty of greenery on the front which has plenty of family entertainment in the summer months.

The famous Paignton zoo is always a winner with families and if you fancy something different, the steam railway will take you on a short trip where you can cross on the ferry to Dartmouth.
