A Christmas break in Devon at The Observatory
Christmas 2022 was a busy time at the Observatory and here’s hoping that Christmas 2023 will be just as busy! With our lovely guests wanting to take in the Christmas ambiance of not just the apartment but the surrounding towns and cities. Exeter is one of my favourites at this time of year, with its Christmas market and the streets decorated to perfection! Just a short journey from our lovely apartment – what’s not to love?
Teignmouth might not seem like the obvious choice to catch a bit of winter sun but December can have its sunny days. When it does, there’s no better place to sit and catch some rays than on the balcony at The Observatory at Grand Banks!
The following images were taken at the beginning of December when the sun was so low that the balcony was in the sun for most of the day and was warm enough to sit out enjoy!
If it’s a little chilly, wrap up in one of our blankets with a glass of hot mulled wine!
Whatever the weather, the balcony at The Observatory offers some stunning and ever changing views across the estuary.

It’s our first Christmas at The Observatory and we’ve really had some fun dressing the apartment for our lovely guests, making it a ‘home from home’ but with the added bonus od the beautiful view!
